Getting Started with Oil Painting

Service Description

This short course is designed to get you familiar with using oil paints. Although centred around portraiture it explores the basic techniques that you can carry forward and easily apply to other painting genres. You will be paint portraits using an underpainting known as a grisaille, and using a direct approach using a mix of basic colours known as the Zorn palette. You will be working from photos at first, and then from life with a model. Suitable for all abilities.
